With water colours I prefer a completely different approach. We have developed towards a degree of self-reliance that has become problematic in itself
.
By realising our intellectual freedom to the full, we have learnt to draw knowledge solely from our own awareness. We want to enforce our will onto nature and landscape by all means.

Nowadays we are able to perceive the negative aspects of such a development. Like the first men, we need to learn again how to understand the invisible dimensions of earth, landscape and nature.

My last water colours point in that direction. Each picture is dedicated to one particular topic. Runes are to reinforce the message. Runes are to render my paintings more powerful.

Although knowledge of runes has been oppressed through religious intolerance and tyranny, they have survived through oral tradition.

P
re-Christian peoples from Northern Europe left them. At that time emphasis was placed on personal freedom und independence. There weren't any absolute truths either.

The views of other people on the mysteries of birth, life and death were not regarded as a threat but as different aspects of a manifold truth, of tolerance and respect.

Generally speaking, men and women enjoyed equal rights although they did not do the same work.
They were seen as egalitarian, as 'complementary opposites' in a partnership, to which each partner contributed equal shares.

We are still fighting for all that. My rune-paintings are to remind us of that struggle.
The brilliance of the water colours are meant to help accept that message.

We live amidst colours. We just need to look at nature. Many people have forgotten how to consciously live with colours. Colours imply energy, light and oscillation.

By means of my colour-networking I would like to arouse being, thinking, feeling, touching, seeing and smelling in the viewer. The freedom of our minds makes it particularly thrilling to set off for this universe.
